Prof. K. Elan Jung, MD, the author of the new book Sexual Trauma: A Challenge Not Insanity, has been a practicing psychiatrist, treating patients on a daily basis, for almost forty years, and a researcher and professor of psychiatry at The Albany Medical College. He was also a military surgeon in Vietnam, an E.R. physician as well as a general practitioner before becoming a psychiatrist.

He has published in professional journals and contributed subchapters to the book Tardive Dyskensia, published in 1980 by the Spectrum Press of New York, and presented papers at scientific conferences. He is Founding Fellow of the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists, a Diplomat of the American Psychiatric Association, and Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners. He supervises the Psychotherapy Center in Queensbury, New York. His other writing interests include a screenplay he has written, Primal Scream.
